kgbdeals (www.kgbdeals.com) is an online buying service that empowers its members to get the best deals in and around major US and European cities.
The successful candidate will be incented to close deals with manufacturers or wholesalers in order to sell their products nationwide. This position requires an understanding of the kgbdeals audience, market trends, and how group buying can be harnessed to sell huge volumes of products to consumers via the Internet.
The position requires clearly articulating kgbdeals and its service offerings over the phone, with the main objective of having national manufacturers or wholesalers sign contracts offering discounts that reach kgbdeals' entire subscriber base.
You will be innovative and look at new ways for manufacturers/wholesalers to reach mass audience levels in short periods of time, using flash selling/group buying principles. You will also work closely with the Merchandising and Publishing teams to create high impact and high volume deals.
We are looking for experienced Buyers to partner with manufacturers/wholesalers to identify key marketable products (e.g. electronics, tickets, etc.) through:
· Enhancing the group buying experience, by selling huge volumes of products to consumers via the internet
· Defining price points to drive high volumes of sales
· Identifying and building partnerships with relevant brands and manufacturers within their vertical market or category
· Ensuring the fulfilment process from Merchant-to-Consumer is robust
· Defining the best product mix for promotion to our rapidly growing buying base
· Being seen as the category leader within the global deals business
· Negotiating all appropriate contract terms
Responsibilities will include:
· Lead generation. You'll know your market, the products you are targeting, and who to speak to while making outbound calls to business owners, Marketing Directors, etc.
· Deal creation. Negotiating prices and margins and tailoring the deals content to appeal to the kgbdeals subscriber base through researching national prospects via web search, analysis, etc.
· Meet and exceed sales and productivity targets. You will be commissioned on the number of deals you bring in every month. You will also be measured on metrics, such as average discount of the deal and average revenue share.
· Close interaction with Sales and Merchandising Team. You will work closely to create high impact and high volume deals.
· Continuously looking to develop and grow the business through commitment to team objectives and working in partnership with the rest of the business.
· Willingness to look at new ways of working for both kgbdeals and the merchants with whom you do business. To take ownership on all calls by being proactive with customer queries in terms of follow-up and escalation.
· Ability to manage an effective schedule and workload to ensure all prospective customers are approached while maintaining an up-to-date level of product and procedural knowledge.
· Submitting accurate and timely deals documentation and reports in line with company best practice.
· Any other projects and tasks assigned.
Requirements:
· Must be able to bird-dog and get past the gatekeeper.

· Relationship builder -- you're a strong account manager with the ability to close deals. Your clients trust you and look to you for advice.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You can explain your thinking to anyone and can resolve conflicts fairly.

· You're decisive and have excellent attention to detail. Your numbers are always spot-on, and your proposals leave no stone unturned.
· You're irrepressible -- you have drive, ambition, and you are going to make it happen.
· Works well in a high-call volume environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
· University degree or equivalent.
· 2 to 4 years of B2B national sales experience with a buying / purchasing / merchandising background, preferred. Ad/media sales, Manufacturing and/or Technology experience will also be helpful in this position. You will be a specialist in your market and expert on trends.
· Start-up experience is a plus. You've been a part of the driving force behind a new idea and love the opportunities it brings, or you have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset in a corporate environment.
